Salt socks
While there is a widespread standard application of salt socks, I would like to discuss a new, still young method of salt socks here.
Let’s start with the old method.
Salt socks are a tried and tested household remedy for cold feet, gout or colds. They apparently promote blood circulation and stimulate the metabolism.
The application is simple and requires only a few ingredients.
It is best to use pure cotton socks and a 3 to 5 percent salt solution.
How do I proceed? – Making salt socks
Make brine: I dissolve 30 grams of salt (sea salt, or preferably Himalayan salt) in 1/2 liter of warm water. This produces an ideal brine solution that is perfect for use.
Soak socks: Dip a pair of clean cotton socks in the brine solution until they are completely soaked.
Wring out the socks and put them on: I take the socks out of the solution and wring them out so that they are still wet but no longer dripping. Then I put on the damp cotton socks.
Pull more socks over them: I put another pair of thick woolen so cks over the damp socks or wrap them with a dry towel to keep the moisture away from the surface and to increase the effect of the heat.
Allow to take effect: Now I leave the salt socks on, preferably lying down, for at least 30 minutes. An hour or even overnight would be better .
After it has taken effect: I then take off my socks. If the feet feel uncomfortable, I rinse them with lukewarm water. If everything feels fine, I just dab them a little and leave them to dry.

Salt socks – quick and easy: new method
This method is simple, less complicated than the conventional method and can also be used on the move.
I take off my socks and fill them with one or two teaspoons or tablespoons of Himalayan salt. (depending on the size of the foot).
Then put them on again.
This method is suitable for overnight use in bed as well as for mobile use during the day. This offers completely new possibilities.
Some people find this method gives them so much energy that they may not be able to sleep properly. This can be the case the first time you use it. However, it then regulates itself in the following nights or if you also wear them during the day. If you wear the salt socks more often and also drink salt brine in a warm cup of water, this energy boost is no longer so noticeable and you can still sleep well. Some people’s dreams seem much clearer than before.
Wearing socks in everyday life gives some people more noticeable energy. The good crystal salt is also supposed to protect against stress and negative energy.
If you wear the salt socks during the day and are also out and about with them, the salt apparently acts like a peeling. Calluses are gently loosened. In my case, the initial loosening of skin flakes in combination with moisture under the foot caused a slight burning sensation, because the new layer of skin underneath is somewhat more sensitive. I therefore took a break from using the salt socks for a few hours until my skin got used to them.
After using the salt socks, I simply give the salt from the socks to nature and spread it in the garden or on the lawn.
Everything that the salt absorbs from me in terms of energies that have burdened me is thus handed over to the earth. If I have the impression that I have had a lot of stress that has been channeled into the salt, I change the salt and the socks every day. I adjust what I wear so that I feel comfortable. Incidentally, the salt disinfects my feet.
When should you proceed with caution?
Open wounds or skin damage: The salt may irritate or sting slightly on injured skin. Even if it ultimately supports regeneration. Here, too, my own feeling and trial and error are important to me.
Diabetic foot: People with diabetes often have impaired nerve and circulatory function. They do not feel temperature or stimulus damage well, which can lead to them not feeling the stimuli as well. In this case, I would also lovingly follow what is happening visually.
Cardiovascular diseases: Strong circulatory stimuli can increase the strain if you have existing heart problems. I therefore react accordingly when I notice something like this and stop or regulate the application.
Varicose veins or venous diseases: In the case of advanced vein problems, heat and increased blood circulation can initially worsen the symptoms. I would therefore approach this more slowly and adjust my dosage accordingly so that it suits me.
Sensitive skin / neurodermatitis: Salt could dry out or itch sensitive skin. I would ensure an appropriate dosage and anointing. This is done in these cases anyway.
It is always important for me to gain my own courageous experience. After all, that’s how all the experiences in self-help came about.
